Connecting Open Research and Open Education for Benefit of All

ACT is working towards dynamically connecting research and training in European agricultural fields, but what benefits are to be found in general in bringing together open education and research? The International Community for Open Research and Education (ICORE) was founded based upon this very question.

After multiple successes and constantly increasing membership rates, ICORE would like to welcome both members and non-members to discussion. Join the International Community for Open Research and Education (#ICORE) for a virtual meeting on September 16, 2014. As always, ICORE will host two meetings to allow worldwide participation (at 8:00 UTC and 16:00 UTC).

ACT Consortium Meets in Greece

TEIA LogoThe ACT Consortium met June 25-27 at the premises of partner TEIA in Greece, further developing ACT's approach through discussions of the findings from both the desktop research phase of the project and the recent focus groups held in Germany, Greece, and Italy. The outline of the “Pathways for Agricultural Competence and skills based Training” Framework (PACT) based on EQF and ECVET, a principle deliverable of the project aligning agricultural skills taught with European standards, was refined from the results of these activities.

In the coming months, the development of the PACT Framework will continue, culminating with a first release version in early fall. This version will be used to construct a training module piloting the PACT Framework, demonstrating the effectiveness of PACT and its adaptability to the needs of the agricultural labour market.
